About the Event

The Haydn Williams Fellowship is offered to an academic of outstanding international reputation and broad academic interest. One of the latest Fellows awarded this prestigious Fellowship is Associate Professor Thomas O’Neill, a renowned industrial and organisational psychologist.

Leaders, set your team up for success!

Building a team is hard work, but it pays off. Learn about one of the most critical leadership challenges, which is to build great teams. Thomas will explore how you can build, maintain, and enhance your team. The presentation will cover the importance of direction and purpose, relationships, meaning, alignment, trust, accountability, and healthy disagreement. Thomas will be using an evidence-based approach as the basis for describing what the state-of-the-science says about high-performance teamwork.

About the speaker:

Thomas O’Neill is the Director of the Individual and Team Performance Lab and Associate Professor of Industrial-Organisational Psychology at the University of Calgary, Canada. He researches high-performance teamwork, virtual team effectiveness, conflict management, personality, and assessment. Thomas built and managed the state-of-the-art evidence-backed teamwork assessment platform, ITPmetrics.com, which provides free evidence-based assessments and feedback for developing teamwork skills. He has published over 55 journal articles and he has worked extensively to translate the science of high performance teamwork into practice through consultations, workshops and public lectures.

We hope that you are able to join us for the 2020 Haydn Williams Public Lecture.
