About the Event

Through the looking glass: Person-centred approaches

Person-centered approaches gain more and more traction in empirical sciences as they provide a nuanced understanding about the emergence of unique configurations on a set of variables in a sample which can lead to important insights in both research and practice. This session will focus on how to use person-centered approaches as an important complement to variable-centered studies. We will be focusing on Latent Profile Analysis (LPA) as a very common person-centered approach in applied psychology. Theoretical, methodological, and practical implications will be discussed along with step-by-step guidelines on how to carry out a Latent Profile Analysis in Mplus.

About the speaker

Dr Arian Kunzelmann is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Transformative Work Design as part of the Future of Work Institute at Curtin University. His research interests are related to various constructs and concepts within Industrial and Organisational Psychology, such as transformative work design, occupational resilience, and the concept of thriving at work. Previously, he was working in a Senior Managerial HR Role for a large construction company located in Germany. He likes to act in highly practical roles in which practice is informed by, and contributes to, research.
