About the Event

Social media has now become an essential part of everyday life for almost everyone and offers the public a way of read-read to read-write. It not only has a powerful impact on our human decision-making process but also redefines our human society including business landscapes. With social media’s unrivalled breadth, it has enormous potential to understand various aspects of our human society. However, analysing social media data is challenging with its largely unstructured data formats. This seminar, led by Dr Mingming Cheng, will provide an overview of social media analytics by demonstrating how social media analytics can drive insights into human behaviour. It will go through the analytics journey from social media data collection and analysis to visualization. No prior knowledge of social media analytics is required.
