About the Thrive at Work in Mining Masterclass Series

As part of the State Government’s Mental Awareness, Respect and Safety (MARS) Program, the Future of Work Institute (FoWI) developed the Thrive at Work in Mining Masterclass Series to support mining organisations at different stages of their journey toward mentally healthy workplaces. Led by Professor Karina Jorritsma, the program combined research, industry insight and practical application in a cohort-based executive education format.
Delivered over three years, the series engaged three cohorts of mining organisations through structured learning modules, shared case studies, and an active Community of Practice. Throughout the program, participants and researchers worked together to co-develop a suite of practical, evidence-based toolkits and case studies. These resources were designed to help organisations apply the Thrive at Work Framework, take preventive action, and embed sustainable, fit-for-purpose approaches to employee mental health and wellbeing across the sector.
