About the Event

How often do we use our research knowledge to inform our own practice? Do we epitomise the myriad of sayings relating to the inability of professionals to apply their skills for themselves? This session looks at how knowledge in the areas of strategy and project management can prove useful in helping us being more effective academics.

About the Speaker:

Professor Fran Ackermann is a John Curtin Distinguished Professor within the Faculty of Business and Law, Curtin University, Perth Australia. Her research interests focus on complex decision making particularly within the fields of project management, strategy, and negotiation. Her research is underpinned by a modelling technique that enables comprehensive and systemic modelling of perceptions allowing for deep and substantive insights. She has published extensively, been awarded both research council and industry grants and has worked with a large range of organizations (across the globe) as a researcher/consultant. She teaches several executive education classes – including one delivered globally for a multi-national organisation.
